Programme

The first Sunday Shoot of the season will be down at Wooler Common. We will meet at East Ord at 1.00pm and then car share as far as possible. (If you're making your own way then the aim will be to arrive at Wooler around 1.30pm). If we get finished shooting by about three then there will be an opportunity to grab a coffee / cake before the cafe shuts at 4pm. Alternatively, you might want to bring a picnic if it's a nice day...

The club's annual exhibition will again be held in St Aiden's Hall in Berwick. Doors will be open from 10am to 4pm on both Saturday 13th September and Sunday 14th September. Members should please see the club's bulletins for submitting prints. 

The timing coincides with the Berwick Heritage Open Days (HODS) week, which runs from Friday 12th September to Sunday 21st September. More details here: https://www.berwickhods.org.uk/

Join us for this in depth look at how to critique images. The emphasis will be on assessing your own images thoroughly, but we’ll also look at how to give helpful feedback to others, and how to receive and use the feedback you may receive from your fellow photographers. After the presentation, a useful written checklist will be provided.

The first competition night of the year is the judging of the PDI competition. Judging will be done through the website prior to the evening, with results and display of images on the night.

Judging of the Saturday Shoot competition will be carried out by the membership.

Meet in Berwick to take some night time shots around the town.

Tonight is also the deadline for the monochrome competition. If you are submitting prints, please bring them along on the night. Digital submissions should be made through the website.

Tony Broom will be joining us to judge the monochrome competition.

The first meeting of the New Year will be the theme night. The theme for this season is 'Windows' - please bring along two images on a stick to show and discuss. 

Please bring along three of the favourite images that you have taken in 2025 on a stick. We will share and discuss the images over the evening.

Ian Berry, Eddie Middleton and Andy Watkin will be speaking about colour theory, monochrome imagery and infrared photography respectively.

Please bring along a small slection of images or short presentation to tell us about any photography related projects that you might be working on.

Shona is a Professional Photographer based in the very beautiful seaside town of North Berwick, Scotland. She specialises in Seascape and Coastal Photography and is known in particular for my use of intentional camera movement (ICM Photography).

Shona is heavily influenced by contemporary art and abstract minimalism, which is where she draws her inspiration from for much of her work. This has led to an exploration of creating her vision through the use of intentional camera movement, a technique that can create serene and painterly results.

Mike Allport will be joining us to judge the Print Competition

Members are encouraged to join us for the club's Annual General Meeting. In addition to the officer's reports and election of a Committee for 2026 / 2027 the meeting will also set topics for the Triptych competition and theme night. Please do make every effort to join us.
